Water Quality Standards and Criteria
By US Environmental Protection Agency and Purdue University. Provides a framework for maintenance and improvement of water quality when adopted by States, U.S. Territories, and Indian Tribes. This software presents the three components of State and Tribal water quality standards: waterbody uses (e.g. swimming, boating), water quality criteria or limits on chemical concentrations that may be present the waterbody, and antidegradation policy to protect existing water quality. It explains how Indian tribes can become involved, and describes discretionary policies that affect water quality standards (WQS), economic considerations in the WQS program, EPA's role and responsibility in the WQS process, and implementation of WQS through National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits. Relevant sections of the Clean Water Act are included, along with information on use attainability analysis, the submittal/approval process, implementation, and public involvement. Additionally, the user is provided with resources, contacts, a glossary of terms, and several examples of water quality standards.

Water Quality Standards Database (WQSDB)
By US Environmental Protection Agency. The National Water Quality Standards Database (WQSDB) is designed to be a single point of access to EPA and state water quality standards (WQS) information. This website provides access to several WQS reports that provide information about designated uses, waterbody names, state numeric water quality criteria, and EPA recommended numeric water quality criteria. The WQSDB allows users the ability to compare WQS information across the Nation using standard reports.

Web-Based Reach Indexing Tool for Grants Reporting and Tracking System (WebRIT-GRTS)
